Halebidu is a town situated in Hassan District, Karnataka, India. Halebidu was the majestic capital of the Hoysala Empire in the twelfth century. 
It is home to a portion of the best cases of Hoysala design. Most remarkable are the luxurious Hoysaleshwara and Kedareshwara sanctuaries. 
The city got the name “Halebidu” in light of the fact that it was harmed and forsaken into “old capital” subsequent to being stripped and plundered twice by north Indian Muslim multitudes of the Delhi Sultanate in the fourteenth century.
